RTBF – Young Artists Prize: Maak & Transmettre
The Parliament of the Federation awarded its 2024 Young Artists Prize on Thursday during a ceremony at the Grand-Hornu (Mons) to the design collective Maak & Transmettre.
Made up of Alice Emery, Mathilde Pecqueur and Salomé Corvalan, all trained in textile design, the collective creates hybrid everyday objects with poetic undertones, such as curtains with arch shapes evoking twilight light, a carpet-wall pierced with a window, or a chair with colorful padded rolls.
The award-winning collective receives a €6,000 prize. Each year, the Parliament of the FWB presents its Young Artists Prize to creators under 40 who have a connection with the French Community of Belgium in the field of visual arts.
