The shadow cast by a phlebodium leaf becomes an abstract motif. In soft shades of gray, the Maak & Transmettre trio reinterpreted this shadow in zones of tufted gradients. Mixtures of ecru cotton and navy-blue wool threads in varying proportions give rise to a palette “shaping” the leaf. The result is elusive and mysterious.
