Rencontre(s) – CID Grand Hornu
In 2024, we were awarded the Young Artists in Design Prize by the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The exhibition RENCONTRES was held at CID Grand Hornu, curated by Marie Pok, from December 13, 2024 to May 18, 2025. Highlighting the discipline of design, the prize invited the laureates to exhibit together, creating a space for dialogue between highly diverse practices.
The five studios selected by the 2024 jury Maak & Transmettre, paulineplusluis, Thibault Huguet, and Arnaud Eubelen stand out for their singular approaches and a shared interest in original creative processes. Rather than emphasizing their differences, they chose to bring them into dialogue by blending their creations.
Rugs, seating, furniture, lamps, and objects coexist in a dynamic collision of materials, forms, images, and narratives, giving rise to unexpected and poetic encounters. With generosity, the designers also invite the public to experience their creations through touch and use, extending the spirit of the workshop into the exhibition space.
