Tissages Parlants is a participatory project that brings women together around textile, identity, and exchange. In collaboration with the Uccle Cultural Centre, which is hosting the second edition, four groups took part in this human and creative journey.
We led felting workshops bringing together women learning French and local residents, invited to share memories connected to their origins.
At the same time, artist Aurore Billion explored the cyanotype technique with teenagers from a specialised school, blending light, image, and textile through a poetic and sensitive approach.
A third group of women delved into embroidery, drawing inspiration from street names and neighbourhood fables to weave imaginary stories rooted in the local territory.
Finally, a fourth group also contributed to this collective artwork, enriching the project with new voices and a diversity of skills.
The exhibition presents the outcomes of these collective processes: unique creations that turn textile into a true shared language.
A CCU project, in collaboration with Le PAS asbl, La Maison de quartier 1180, ABC, École La Cime – La Famille, with the support of COCOF, the Municipality of Uccle, and its participatory budget.
