“A rug to curl up on, stretch out, and watch the Traveller’s Tree sway in the breeze from the half-open window…”

In July 2022, on the occasion of an invitation from Galerie 550 in Santiago de Chile for a solo show, the large tufted piece À l’ombre, alanguies was created in our workshop.

It consists of a wall pierced with a window that extends onto the floor as a rug/seat. The colors evoke a sunset in southern France: that fleeting moment when the wall’s hues shift and shadows lengthen.

Galerie 550 is so small that the tufted piece fits perfectly, allowing for a close and intimate interaction between the viewer and the work. A bench at the back also allows one to look through the window into the street bordering the gallery when its door is open.
