RM – Mobilier
For the “Vitrine pour un designer” competition, we designed the Sablon chair. SABLON is a versatile piece suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. It features a metal frame adorned with a textile surface. This textile element is snugly fitted into the chair’s structure, providing a sensuous and colorful covering, accentuated by reassuring, rounded bolsters.
Its originality lies in the fact that anyone can enjoy changing the color of the cover and straps according to their desires and the changing seasons.
Our aim was to bring comfort and conviviality to terrace furniture.
The origin of this piece is the LUTETIA chair, a flagship model of RM-Mobilier. Created in 1958, she’s calling back to the company’s roots and craftsmanship. For the “Vitrine pour un designer” competition, we revisited this model to imbue it with innovation and originality, highlighting another of RM-Mobilier’s skills: sewing and quilting.
Lastly, we collaborated with local partners for the development of this product. This furniture is covered with recycled outdoor fabrics from Dickson & Constant / Sunbrella, featuring soft and mineral colors. The straps, which add vibrant accents, are produced by DMR Rubans.
